Why it made the list

A flat tire strands you if the factory jack is missing, seized or was never in the car to begin with. A rated jack and a lug wrench in one box put those two tools back where they belong.

Who it's not for

Getting under a vehicle or doing repeated shop lifting. A jack lifts, it does not hold: never put any part of yourself under a car resting on a jack alone, and use rated jack stands for anything past a wheel swap.
