The bang of a dropping lid and a seat that creeps sideways both come back to the hinge, and the build-up around the bolts cannot be reached while the seat is fixed in place. This one lowers slowly and comes off in one piece for cleaning.
A round bowl. This is the elongated version with a 5.5 inch bolt spread, and enameled wood is heavier and less forgiving of harsh bathroom chemicals than a plastic seat.
Measure your bowl from the centre line between the two seat bolt holes out to the front rim. Elongated comes in near 18.5 in and round nearer 16.5 in, and this seat suits the elongated shape only.
