Plastic containers stain orange from tomato sauce, hold on to the smell of last week's curry and leak in a bag. Glass bases with latching lids settle the staining and the spill, and go fridge to oven.
Anyone carrying lunch a long way on foot, or expecting the lids to go in the oven. Only the glass bases carry the oven rating, and glass adds weight a plastic set does not.
Check that your cabinet or fridge shelf takes the 8-cup container standing up, since that is the piece that usually will not go where the small ones do.
