A mug with one drinking slot has to be turned into place for every sip, and bare metal can carry yesterday's coffee into today's. A ceramic lining and a lid that opens all the way round settle both.
Anyone wanting all-day capacity or a straw. At 16 oz with a push-button drinking lid this is one large coffee rather than a full day of water.
Check the fit at both ends of the routine: 6.6 inches tall and 3.1 inches wide, so it has to clear your coffee maker spout as well as sit in the cup holder.
