The space over a pile of folded clothes on a closet shelf does nothing, and pulling from the middle of that pile topples it. Interlocking baskets with a slide-rail front turn one shelf into drawers.
Anything that has to stay dry, since the seller's protective wording carries no rating behind it and an open drawer front is not a sealed container, and heavy items, since no weight limit per basket is published.
Measure shelf depth and clear height together: the baskets are 16.6 inches front to back, and stacking all five reaches about 36.5 inches, more than sits above many closet shelves.
