Why it made the list

An open bin means putting a hand on the lid while cooking, and a liner with nothing holding it slides down inside so the slack shows over the rim. A pedal and bag rings deal with both at once.

Who it's not for

Anyone expecting a scented or filtered can. The treated surfaces are the lid and the rim, where the treatment slows bacteria growing on the plastic rather than deodorizing what is in the bag, and there is no replaceable carbon cartridge in this model.

Check this before you buy

Measure the spot before ordering. The black plastic version of this size is listed at roughly 25.4 inches tall, 18.1 wide and 14.7 deep, and it is rectangular, so a narrow gap beside a counter may not take it.
