Why it made the list

A loose cord on the shelf and a soleplate that drags are the two things that turn ironing into a chore. The cord winds back into the iron, the ceramic plate is nonstick, and self clean flushes mineral build-up out of the tank.

Who it's not for

A 220 to 240 volt country without a proper converter, since this is built for 120 volt North American outlets, and it is a corded plug-in iron rather than a cordless one or a separate tank steam station.

Check this before you buy

Check how hard your tap water is. The manual allows ordinary tap water but says that with extremely hard water you should alternate between tap and distilled, so decide whether you want distilled on hand.
